Background:
Due to the recent resignation of Councilwoman Smith, the city of Naperville, Illinois must hold a special election to fill her seat. Councilwoman Smith won this seat last November with approximately 8,000 votes to her opponent’s 6,000 votes. The local political gurus believe it will take 5,000 votes to win this special election. The Citizens for Tax Reduction has recruited Kristen West to run for this seat. If elected, her vote against the upcoming proposed tax increase will save local taxpayers $250 per family. The city council special election will be held in 100 days.

The scope of this project includes establishing the campaign organization, recruiting and deploying volunteers, improving Kristen’s name recognition, and conducting fundraising activities. In order to improve Kristen’s name recognition her campaign will mail a position paper to all registered voters, install yard signs, hand out political brochures, run an ad in the local newspaper, and conduct a get-out-to-vote phone bank. Fundraising will include a donation letter to her closest friends and relatives and a Pancake Breakfast.
